    Knitted Stretch Sensors

    WORK IN PROGRESS
Exploring different possibilities to knit stretch sensors.

    Loop Stitch

also: loop stitch, fur stitch, crocet loop fabric
I really like the following loopy samples. There are different techniques and they can either be crocheted or knitted. The loops can be left as loops or cut and they will not unravel as the way it is worked essentially ties off the ends.

    Knit Contact Switch

This sensor is the very first example of something I made with the circular knitting machine.

    Circular Knitting Machines

also: knitting nancy, knitting machine, German: Strickmühle
also see: circular sock knitting machine
These machines are amazingly easy to use. I bought myself a barbie Knitting machine via Amazon UK because it was cheaper than the more professional looking ones. It works fine for the circular knit but is very messy at the edges when it comes [...]

    Knit Touchpad

This rectangular piece of knit, cut from an anti-static glove, has different resistance ranges, depending if you measure across the rows or columns of the stich.
    >> Instructable

The range of resistance across the columns of stiches is about 30K Ohm. The range of resistance across the rows of stitches is about 90 K Ohm. This means [...]
