    Eeontex Projects

This post compiles a list of projects for e-textile designs and sensors that make use of the Eeontex range of coated conductive fabrics produced by Eeonyx. Eeontex fabrics are fabrics coated/doped with an inherently conductive polymer, making them conductive with quite a high resistance. But the resistance changes of distance, pressure through the material, and stretch over the material – making them ideal for sensor construction. Velostat is a plastic sheet with similar properties to Eeontex, but because it is plastic it has none of the advantages of a textile. Currently Eeonyx fabrics are not available in small retail quantities, but hopefully this will change!

Samples of simple fabric pressure sensors made by fusing various conductive fabric and Eeontex fabric combinations together:

Have you tried to connect Eeonyx with SparkFun, Adafruit or LessEMF? It seems like it would be pretty easy for one of them to buy 100ft, cut and package to sell to Makers. Someone like you might need to guide them to the best Eeontex to use.
