We’re funded by your tax money.

How do we leave the reality of making a living outside the door of our shop, so that customers can focus on imagining what kinds of technology they want? One idea is to state it straight out. Putting it in writing on the front of the shop to explain that we are not in the business of making money, instead we want your electronic textile desires.

Bellow are some of the sentences we’re playing with to get this message across.

NOT Money:

Money is not a topic.
Don’t ask how we make our living.
We’re not in the business of making money.
We don’t rely on your money.
We’re funded by your tax money.

Speculative design project:

This shop is a wearable technology fantasy.
This shop is (not) a fairytale.

This shop is make-believe.
Our shop is make-believe.

This shop is fictional.
Our shop is fictional.

This shop is funded by your tax money.
We’re funded by your tax money.

Make wishes come true:

What can we make for you?
Your wish is our desire.
Let us make something for you.
We’re in the business of making your electronic textile dreams come true.
We want your electronic textile desires.
Please help us by imagining what you want.
What is your reality?
We rely on your ideas!

Together:

Don’t ask how we make our living.
We don’t rely on your money, we rely on your ideas!

We’re NOT in the business of making money.
We want your electronic textile desires.

Money is not a topic.
We’re in the business of making your electronic textile dreams come true.

This shop is a wearable technology fantasy.
Let us make something for you.
